Learn journalism basics, how to write great news stories and how to write for the Web. Students are news reporters and produce a real student newspaper.

Location: Home School Hang Out, Alpharetta

Sean Casey is well-known for combining creativity, fun, and passion with real world experience and practical classroom instruction. Sean has been a professional writer for more than 25 years. His experience spans local newspapers, national trade association publications, television commercials, public relations and Internet publishing. Sean is an amateur playwright, short story author and actor. This summer, one of his plays will be produced in Onion Man Production’s 10-Minute Play Festival. Starting his fourth year as a home school teacher, Sean has taught Journalism at Lilburn Academic Classes, Creative Writing at the Home School Hang Out and Journalism, Creative Writing and Drama at Simon’s Branch Christian Academy. He is also the drama camp director Lionheart Theatre Company in Norcross. Sean graduated from The American University in Washington DC with bachelor’s degree in Communications. Sean is married to Christine, a physician and U.S. Public Health Service commissioned officer working at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Sean and Chris have two children, Sam and Dorey, who attend Greater Atlanta Christian School.
